Commodore Realty signs new leases with national retailers Office Depot and hhgregg
MIAMI, FLORIDA — Max D. Puyanic, CEO of Commodore Realty, Inc. (CRI), is pleased to announce entering into leases with national big box tenants Office Depot and hhgregg at its Sarasota Crossings Shopping Center.
Office Depot is one of the nation’s largest retailers of office products and supplies. hhgregg specializes in the retail sales of consumer electronics, home appliances and bedding, and video games. Office Deport together with hhgregg will anchor the east wing of the Sarasota Crossings Shopping Center. The hhgregg store will be the southernmost store in the Tampa MSA where hhgregg will open numerous locations. The only location serving Sarasota County will be located at the Sarasota Crossings Shopping Center located on Fruitville Road and will be a destination for many consumer electronics and appliance buyers. hhgregg is known for their knowledgeable staff and personalized service to their customers. Opening of both of these new locations is targeted for early 2010.
The established area around Sarasota Crossings on Fruitville Road has become the major retail corridor for Sarasota County. While retail growth in other parts of Sarasota have begun to stall such as the recently postponed University Town Center project on University Parkway, retail growth on Fruitville Road has continued to flourish. In addition to the new Office Depot and hhgregg locations at our center, Lowe’s recently opened a location nearby as well. Directly across the street from Sarasota Crossings is an existing Winn-Dixie and Target anchored center and Sam’s Club is just a few blocks away. Moving forward this area will continue to benefit from Sarasota County’s planned development of the areas east of I-75.
